Anniversary: Certificate program “BIM Professional” takes place for the 10th time

In December 2021, it will start again: the “BIM Professional” certificate program, which is aimed at engineers, architects and project managers in the construction industry. This time there is a reason to celebrate, because the part-time continuing education program is already taking place for the 10th time. TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning looks back on a successful collaboration with the Leonhard Obermeyer Center of the Technical University of Munich, HOCHTIEF ViCon, Ruhr-Universität Bochum and the Bavarian Chamber of Architects.

“I was amazed with the variety of learning content and the professional organization of the course, as well as the presentation from many different perspectives for BIM. I particularly liked the presentation of the research work, which offers fascinating views into the future.” says a former participant from Munich, looking back on the course. With this feedback, we congratulate the certificate program on its tenth anniversary.

Digitalization of the construction industry opens up new opportunities

The renowned continuing education program at the Technical University of Munich started for the first time in 2017. Since then, interest in the course content has continued to increase.

“In the course of climate change and digitalization, companies in the construction and real estate industry are more than ever faced with the task of anchoring competitive know-how in digital planning and construction in their organizations. From my point of view, the ‘BIM Professional’ program is more relevant than ever,” emphasizes Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Borrmann. Prof. Dr.-ing. Frank Petzold adds: “In four modules, we impart comprehensive knowledge about the BIM methodology to the participants. I am always looking forward to the exchange within the seminars and to playing through application possibilities together, which contribute directly to the solution of the professional challenges of all participants.“ The two professors at TUM hold the scientific responsibility for the program.

“With the ‘BIM Professional’ we combine scientifically sound and practice-oriented knowledge from strong partners. I am very pleased that we are conducting the program in joint cooperation for the tenth time and look forward to many more years,“ says Bernhard Kraus, Managing Director of the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning.

Interactive exchange with outstanding BIM experts

The seminar imparts state-of-the-art methods and tools for successful project management with the “Building Information Modeling” method in the areas of technology, processes, people and guidelines. Case studies and group exercises as well as an interactive exchange with Germany’s top experts, who will be guest lecturers at the seminar, create a workshop atmosphere with a high practical relevance and enable the participants to use their knowledge directly in their professional environment. Another participant sees it this way: “The “BIM Professional” course enabled me to develop a comprehensive and very solid technical basis in a short period of time. I particularly liked the interdisciplinary approach and learning in an interesting small group. The lecturers are excellent and highly motivated.”

There are still a few places available for the course starting in December 2021. Applications will be accepted until the end of November. Please inform yourself on the program website of the “BIM Professional” about course content, discounts and the application process.
