Bill Gates and Federal Minister Dr. Müller guest at the TU München
Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft Corp. and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will speak with students about the future of development policy together with Dr. Gerd Müller, Federal Minister of Economics. The side-event to the Munich Security Conference will take place on February 17 and is organized by students of the TUM Business Club and in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development as well as the Global Perspectives Initiative. The TUM Management Alumni e.V. supports this event.
Bill Gates is co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Along with co-chair Melinda Gates, they work together in their philanthropic efforts to expand opportunity to the world’s most disadvantaged people by collaborating with grantees and partners.
In 1975, Gates left Harvard University in his junior year to focus on Microsoft, the company he founded with his childhood friend Paul Allen. As chief software architect and chairman, Gates led the company to become the worldwide leader in business and personal software, services, and solutions.
Dr. Gerd Müller was a member of the European Parliament, where he was the parliamentary managing director of Christlich Demokratische Union Deutschlands/ Christlich-Soziale Union in Bayern e.V. (CDU/CSU). Since 1994, Müller is a member of the German Bundestag and represents the constituency of Oberallgäu. On the 17th of December 2013, Müller was appointed as the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development.
