About 1000 participants are expected for a special event dedicated to digital transformation in September in Munich. On 19 September, 2017 the Chair of Strategy and Organization headed by Prof. Dr. Isabell M. Welpe is joining with Dr. h.c. Thomas Sattelberger (Initiative MINT Zukunft schaffen), Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Manfred Broy (Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern) and Prof. Dr. Michael Dowling (MÜNCHNER KREIS) to host the conference “Digital Transformation – Is there a Uniquely German Way forward?” at TUM.

The main goal of the German-speaking conference is to identify the main challenges of digital transformation while pointing out actionable strategies for dealing with related changes in society, enterprises, leadership, as well as legislation in Germany. Ultimately, the organizers would like to make a contribution to meeting these current developments in a proactive and scientifically founded manner.

Main talking points include:

  • What is the impact of digital transformation on German society and the economy?
  • Are there uniquely German concepts and perspectives?
  • What differentiates Germany from other countries?
  • Will the digital revolution damage Germany’s social contract?

Aside from leading experts such as keynote speakers Claudia Nemat (Deutsche Telekom AG), Christoph Keese (Axel Springer) and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Georg Schreyögg (FU Berlin), confirmed guests include Federal Defense Minister and parliament member Dr. Ursula von der Leyen.

The conference is specifically aimed at enterprise leaders, scientists, politicians, and union representatives. The event schedule was created in close cooperation between TUM, the MINT Zukunft schaffen, Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern as well as MÜNCHNER KREIS.
