Dr. Ellen Schmid receives Johannes B. Ortner prize

At the annual Dies academicus on 7 December, Dr. Ellen Schmid was honored by the Johannes B. Ortner foundation for her outstanding scientific contribution within her dissertation with the topic “Me, Myself and I: Theory and Effects of Self-Interested Leaders”.

The Johannes B. Ortner Prize is awarded for outstanding work by young researchers and academics in technical subjects and the natural sciences and aims to establish a tradition for honoring excellent scientific and academic performance. The foundation was founded in 2005 and promotes research projects by young researchers and academics from the natural sciences and technical professions, and architecture, as well as the funding of TUM study and learning opportunities abroad.

Dr. Ellen Schmid is part of the chair of research and science management held by Prof. Claudia Peus. In her research, she investigates effective and non-effective leadership in different context. She is a trainer in our course program for research and science managers and academic leaders, and offers a leadership style analysis in the context of the personal leadership profiles. Additionally, she develops training concepts for the Executive Education of the TUM School of Management and teaches with a focus on individual leadership development and feedback.
