EMBA Class From Shanghai Attends Exchange Lectures at TUM
International exchange programs with high-ranking colleges and universities across the globe are among the key differentiators of our Executive Education curriculum here at the TUM School of Management. Fostering this kind of exchange, a 50-members EMBA class from Asia – hailing from Shanghai’s Fudan University – visited Munich for a series of foreign exchange lectures from 13-16 June.
The group members came from a number of diverse backgrounds, including a large number of entrepreneurs as well as employees of technology-centered start-up companies. A wide diversity of business segments were represented, including Information and Communication Technology (ICT), biochemistry, pharmaceuticals as well as medical technology.
Next to company visits at Audi in the town of Ingolstadt as well as the TUM start-up company NavVis, the delegation was treated to a number of lectures by TUM-experts. Prof. Dr. Dr. Holger Patzelt shared the latest academic forays into “Entrepreneurship in a globalized world”, while Prof. Dr. Joachim Henkel outlined “Innovation Management in Germany/Europe” from an international perspective. Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar took the podium with an engaging presentation on “Industry 4.0 and technological trends”.
The participants were highly motivated and used every opportunity to ask questions and gain further insights into the business culture at leading companies in Germany and Europe. Additional highlights on the fully stacked itinerary included a visit at BMW World, TUM Entrepreneurship Centers, Maker-Space as well as our Garching Campus with its four-stories high giant slides.
A traditional farewell dinner at the Spatenhaus near the Opera rounded out a successful international visit. We hope that our guests enjoyed their stay in Munich and look forward to continued cooperation with Shanghai’s Fudan University.
