EMBA Class of 2019 Completes Module “Stakeholder Management”

How can today’s business leaders involve stakeholders effectively while adhering to current ethical and legal standards? Our Class of 2019 approached these challenges in the Executive MBA Module “Stakeholder Management” starting on 23 November, 2017 here at the Executive Education Center in Munich.

Setting the tone for an engaging module, Dr. Frank-Martin Belz, Chair for Corporate Sustainability, Brewery and Food Industry, presented the latest research findings on business ethics and stakeholder management. These insights were followed by a two-day primer on international applications of European economic law: Prof. Dr. Philipp Maume, Chair of Corporate Governance and Capital Markets Law, presented cross-border legislation in Europe and the related “do’s and don’ts” for business leaders in areas such as competition law, insolvency law, and employment law.

Members of our Class of 2019 also began with the targeted development of their individual leadership skills through the Individual Leadership Development Program, presented by Dr. Ellen Schmid and Dr. Kristin Knipfer, Chair of Research and Science Management. Individual skills in appropriate conduct with international business partners were also part of an evening event: During a business dinner at Munich’s Spatenhaus, participants received valuable feedback on their business etiquette.

The module also dedicated two entire days to covering the role of marketing in stakeholder management. Dr. Mareike Ahlers from the University of Basel showcased the latest models on “Integrated Corporate and Marketing Communication”. Further highlights included the evening session by Dominik Bösl of KUKA AG on “Ethics in Robotics”, a trending subject that bridges the gap between ethical standards and emerging technologies.

We wish all participants of our Executive MBA a harmonious holiday season. In the next step, our Class will tackle the Executive MBA Module “Leadership & Cooperation” in early February.
