Sharper! How to Stay Competitive in a Changing World

Sharper! How to Stay Competitive in a Changing World /
Moderator Isabel Werdin in conversation with Olympic Judoka Theresa Krischke (née Stoll) and University Professor Thomas Hutzschenreuter
How do successful strategies emerge – in business, in sports, and beyond?

In “Sharper! Charting Your Course with Seven Strategy Principles” published by Murmann Publishers, Thomas Hutzschenreuter presents seven proven strategy principles that can greatly simplify decision-making – regardless of the situation one is facing. In conversation with Olympic bronze medalist and TUM alumna Theresa Krischke (née Stoll), this German-language event hosted by the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning explores how strategic thinking works under pressure – both in the boardroom and in elite sports.

Theresa Stoll studied medicine at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and won bronze at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. She has been on the judo mat since the age of seven alongside her twin sister and fellow TUM alumna Amelie Stoll. Since 2016, the twin sisters have dominated the German judo scene in the lightweight category (up to 57 kg), combining athletic excellence with discipline, resilience, and long-term strategic thinking.

Thomas Hutzschenreuter is a University Professor and Chairholder at the Technical University of Munich, where he teaches and conducts research in strategy. He has published extensively in leading international journals, received numerous awards, and worked with major corporations as well as medium-sized companies across a wide range of industries. His clients value his unconditioned independence, his honesty, and his practical creativity. With Sharper! Charting Your Course with Seven Strategy Principles, he addresses a broader audience of practitioners and decision-makers in business, sports, politics, and society for the first time.

The evening is dedicated to the role of strategy in practice, exploring the development of strategy across a wide range of contexts and disciplines. It is aimed at everyone seeking to strengthen their competitive edge – from the TUM Alumni Community and the TUM LifeLong Learning Community to all those interested in leadership, performance, and decision-making.
