Entrepreneurs wanted!

Many of the great ideas and projects that have emerged the last few months were a direct result of the extremely successful, German Hackathon #WirVsVirus. “The coronavirus is changing our world, but we can shape this change. This is a time for entrepreneurs because, when they see a challenge, they are able to imagine new solutions. We are launching Santander X Tomorrow Challenge because we believe in them and in their capacity to find a response to today’s problems and those that we are going to be facing in the near future.” says Ana Botín, Group Executive Chairman of Banco Santander. Through its global Santander Universities division, Santander is launching a competition for entrepreneurs – the Santander X Tomorrow Challenge.

The challenge is divided into four categories that address some of the key challenges of the current situation:

Re-Work: job creation

Re-Skill: transformation of personal skills

Re-Invent: reinvention and reopening of companies and industries

Re-Launch: new business opportunities

Entrepreneurs can apply for Santander X until July 2, 2020. A panel of judges consisting of entrepreneurs and bank managers will then select the 20 best projects and announce the results on July 16, 2020. Each selected project will receive 20,000 € plus all-encompassing support from the bank and participating institutions, which will provide more than 100 hours of expert mentoring, a roadshow with at least five investors per project to facilitate access to finance, advice on technology and innovation through the MIT Innovation Initiative, and access to software licenses and other services. The Santander X Tomorrow Challenge has a total funding volume of one million Euros.
