LAZICC: First place for TUM Team

TUM students in Waterloo (Ontario) – the Canadian Silicon Valley – scored with their ideas: At the Lazaridis International Case Competition the interdisciplinary team of TUM took first place. It won against eleven other international universities, including renowned institutions such as Berkeley Haas, Queensland University of Technology and McGill University.

The TUM were also present: Marcel Perez and Jochen Madler (both business studies) as well as Niel Mehraein (medicine) and Vicent Jeltsch (computer science). The task of the students was to develop strategies for two practical business cases presented by regional companies. The students had five hours for case one and 24 hours for case two. In addition to strong nerves, strategic thinking and skills in marketing, quantitative analysis and human resources were required.

The competition, which took place as part of the one-week Lazaridis International Case Conference, not only offered the chance to compete with the best business schools: Participants had the opportunity to learn from industry experts in tech talks and network with business leaders at events.

The conference was organized by Laurier’s Lazaridis School of Business and Economics.
