Module “Business Processes & Technology” Premieres Innovative Learning Methods

Participants in our Executive MBA in Business & IT started 2018 with innovative learning technologies created by our Leadership Research & Development Unit. From 22 – 26 January, 2018 the Executive MBA in Business & IT Module on “Business Processes & Technology” explored the intersection between General Management and IT with business simulation exercises and interactive learning technologies.

Headed by Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar, TUM Chair for Information Systems, the module focused on leadership issues in the age of digital transformation. Guest lectures from experienced business leaders included: Dr. Phanthian Zuesongham outlined processes of transformation related to digital disruption at the Hamburg Port Authority. Dominik Bösl (KUKA) discussed “Ethics in Robotics”, while Katharina Meiler (Process Management Consulting) presented the state of the art in digital process consulting.

Nicola Brocksiepe (InfoSys) investigated the role of intercultural aspects in an IT context. Dr. Joachim Jäckle (Henkel AG) provided a glimpse into business strategies at a global enterprise in his lecture “Practitioner’s Perspective: Business Processes & Technology at Henkel”. For a glimpse into the future of digital technologies, participants will visit the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, featuring a virtual reality tour.

Course Preview: Module “Markets, Law & Ethics” Starts in March 2018

What are the latest academic insights in the fields of Marketing, Law, and Ethics – and how are these focus areas interconnected? This question is at the heart of the new Executive MBA in Business & IT Modul „Markets, Law & Ethics“ from 5 – 9 March, 2018 at the University of St.Gallen in Switzerland.

The five-day module caters specifically to business leaders in an era marked by digital change. It covers pressing issues of our time, including:

  • Dilemmas and ethical problems: Legal frameworks and ethical dilemmas facing providers of products and services
  • Stakeholders in marketing: Aligning divergent viewpoints, frameworks and ethical decisions
  • Legal ramifications for markets related to ethical decision-making
  • Decision making in critical situations: Business ethics and sustainability.
