Module “Ownership of Enterprise & Corporate Governance” in St. Gallen

What is the role of information technology in driving overall business success? And how can business executives provide the right guidelines under the auspices of IT governance? Participants will learn the answers during the module “Ownership of Enterprise & Corporate Governance” from 10 – 14 September at the Institute of Information Management of the University of St. Gallen.

The five-day module, which can also be booked as an independent certificate program, will focus on the current challenges facing global enterprises in establishing future-proof IT regulations. In the introductory session, Prof. Dr. Walter Brenner, Chair for Information Management at the University of St. Gallen, will emphasize the role of “IT Governance and COBIT”.

As fundamental tools of the trade, participants will acquaint themselves with Portfolio Management, Benchmarking and IT Audits. Further standouts of the module include guest lectures by Tom Oelsner (Governance of Digital Innovation), Dr. Robert Schleich (New Developments in IT Governance), Jerry Luftman (IT Governance/Business Alignment) and Prof. Dr. iur. Roland Müller (Corporate Governance).

Following the module in Switzerland, participants will embark on their study trip to Berkeley, California. The program’s very first own study trip takes place from 24 – 28 September and includes lectures at the University of California at Berkeley as well as company visits at successful enterprises in nearby Silicon Valley.

The overall theme of the trip will be “Innovating Silicon Valley Style – Mastering Challenges In Responding To Technological And Societal Trends”. Side events include a guided tour of San Francisco on Sunday as well as an event at the German Consulate celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Technical University of Munich.

Please note: The individual modules of our Executive MBA in Business & IT can also be booked as certificate programs. Upon successful completion of the respective certificate exams, participants receive ECTS Credits as well as a TUM-certificate.
