TUM Speakers Series with Nobel Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus

He is economist, social entrepreneur and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize – and next week he speaks at the Technical University Munich: Muhammad Yunus. At the TUM Speakers Series on Monday, January 20, he gives an insight into the question “How do we unleash social consciousness in all businesses?”.

Muhammad Yunus has successfully melded capitalism with social responsibility to create Grameen Bank, a microcredit institution committed to providing small amounts of working capital to the poor for self-employment. For this outstanding idea to create economic and social development from below through microcredit Prof. Muhammad Yunus was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006.

Internationally recognized for his work in poverty alleviation and the empowerment of poor women, Prof. Muhammad Yunus is recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal.

The exclusive event on Monday, January 20, 11.30am, in cooperation with DLD Conference is only for students.

As space is highly limited, participants will be selected out of all applicants.
