Opening ceremony for TUM Campus Heilbronn

On January 31, 2019 the new TUM Campus Heilbronn will be opened with a festive ceremony. In February 2018, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) signed anagreement with the Dieter Schwarz Foundation (DSF) to create a new teaching and research facility in the city of Heilbronn. This is one of the most important endowments in the history of German universities. DSF will perpetually fund 20 new professorships for business studies, complete with equipment and infrastructure: 13 of them at the new TUM Campus Heilbronn and seven in Munich. This makes TUM the first university in Germany to establish an additional campus in another federal state.

Since winter semester 2018/2019 the two study programs Master in Management and Master in Management & Innovation, offered by TUM School of Management, can be followed on the newly established campus. On January 31, the Campus will be opened and the newly build “TUM Tower”, a 45-meter-high tower which is planned to represent the new campus as its central visual piece, will be inaugurated.

Representatives from the fields of science, business and politics are invited and will discuss the topic “Management and Technology” which is the focus of all research and teaching carried out at TUM School of Management. TUM Campus Heilbronn will focus particularly on the areas of digital transformation, family-run businesses and entrepreneurship – areas for which the local region is particularly known.
