Participants Complete Modules “Leadership & Cooperation” and “Demand & Supply Management”

What is the status quo in leadership research and what are the exact leadership qualities required in today’s business environment? The answers were provided by the module “Leadership & Cooperation” from 16 – 20 July in Munich.

Participants were motivated by the opening lecture on “Leadership in the 21st Century” by Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Vice Dean Executive Education, covering the role of changing corporate structures and new demands on leadership personalities. The group then engaged in active exchanges during the round-table discussion “Digital Leadership – what´s all the fuzz about?” at the ImpactHub in Munich.

Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar, TUM Chair of Chair for Information Systems, introduced the subject of “Leading Virtual Teams in a Global Environment”, followed by a company visit at NTT Data. Additional subjects covered by the module included the ethical foundations of business leadership and the changing responsibilities of executives in the era of digital transformation.

The module was directly followed by ”Demand & Supply Management” from 23 – 27 July at St. Gallen University, covering key business processes in manufacturing and supply chain management as well as the role of new IT innovations. As the opening lecture, Prof. Dr. Reinhard Jung presented “IT on the road to industrialization”.

Insights into the field of demand and supply management at international organizations were provided by Daniel Hartert, CIO at Bayer. Michael Loechle, CIO at ABB, identified the latest trends in “Onshore, Nearshore and Offshore Sourcing”. Additional subjects included success strategies in vendor management, current legal changes in data protection, approaches to crowd sourcing, open innovation as well as enterprise architecture management.

Please note: The individual modules of our Executive MBA in Business & IT can also be booked as certificate programs. Upon successful completion of the respective certificate exams, participants receive ECTS Credits as well as a TUM-certificate.
