Participants in the TUM Track of the Master in Management & Innovation prepare for Study Trip to China
From 12 – 22 March 2019, participants in the TUM Track of our Master in Management & Innovation already completed their fifth module in Heilbronn. Under the heading “International Management & International Experience” the curriculum unfolded international perspectives in direct preparation for the upcoming study trip and internship in China.
During the first week, the module was directed by Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar, TUM Chair for Information Systems, with lectures on state-of-the-art practices in global businesses on topics such as “Global Manager’s Environment”, “Culture” (Leading Virtual Teams, Communication, Negotiation) as well as “Global Information Management”.
On the evening of 14 March, Prof. Krcmar opened the floor to questions from participants on the Project Work Unit in their second semester. From 1 April – 30 May 2019, participants will be deployed at a variety of businesses in the Heilbronn region in order to explore specific leadership issues in their project work paper.
During the second week, Prof. Dr. Waldemar Pförtsch, Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, presented the following leadership topics: “Formulation and Implementing Strategy”, “Global Marketing” and ”Globalization of Chinese Companies”.
On 21 March, a company visit to MPDV Mikrolab GmbH in the town of Mosbach provided an opportunity to learn more about the company and its career opportunities. Aside from hands-on impressions from international business practices, participants received an introduction to “International Management” in a lecture. On the evening of March 20, the group wrapped up its final module in Heilbronn in the cozy ambiance of a typical family restaurant of the Swabian region.
In the next step, participants will commence seven weeks of Project Work on 1 April at enterprises in the innovation hub Heilbronn. The group will present the highly anticipated results on 31 May.
