Positive Response for Module “Digital Transformation & Entrepreneurship”
What are the opportunities and new business models unlocked by the process of digital transformation? These questions were answered from the specific perspective of managers and entrepreneurs in our Executive MBA in Business & IT module “Digital Transformation & Entrepreneurship” from 15 – 19 May, 2017 at TUM School of Management.
The response was overwhelmingly positive: A diverse group of participants from eleven countries – including several different semesters and certificate participants – launched into this future-facing topic here at the Executive Education Center.
Drawing on current practical examples, Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar, Academic Director of the Executive MBA in Business & IT, presented a scientific perspective on digital transformation as well as mega trends like Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT). Insights on Personal & Leadership Development, as well as individual support on developing our participants’ leadership skills, was provided by Dr. Ellen Schmid.
Digital transformation and entrepreneurial thinking in next-generation business models – supplemented by a case study on start-up company 12 snap – were covered by Prof. Dr. Bernd Mühlfriedel. Participants were especially pleased by the great early summer weather during their group projects on “Opportunity Recognition” with Prof. Dr. Holger Patzelt at the TUM Entrepreneurship Research Institute in Garching.
Participants drew further information to create their own business models from lectures by Dr. Uwe Stoll on “Artificial Intelligence and Customer Journeys” and Dr. Markus Böhm on “New Digital Business Models” and “Eco System Analysis”.
