Preview: EMBA Class of 2020 Explores Current Approaches to Leadership in “Leadership & Cooperation” Module

What are the key skills for strategically leading teams and providing mutual support within global organizations? Our Class of 2020 in the Executive MBA will approach these questions from 14 – 19 February in the core module “Leadership & Cooperation” in Munich. The academic content of the module, enhanced by digital teaching methods, was designed by Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Vice President of the Technical University Munich and Vice Dean of Executive Education.

With close ties to business practice, the module will showcase several current leadership theories and their applications. In the opening keynote, Prof. Dr. Isabell Welpe of the TUM Chair for Strategy & Organization will outline the tenets of “Strategic Leadership”. Participants will also discuss the role of ethical considerations in leadership, especially the trending topic of value-based leadership.

Additional focus areas include leadership within diverse cultural contexts as well as the new challenges facing leaders in the age of digital transformation. Supplementing the curriculum, international guest speakers from the realm of enterprise and research will present trending topics, including Prof. Dr. Simon Taggar from Wilfrid Laurier University with a lecture on “Strategic Human Resource Management”.

Members of our Executive MBA Class of 2020 are also taking advantage of our Leadership Development Program to expand their own individual leadership skills in a targeted manner. At the moment, our participants are working closely with Digital Leadership Coach Emma on continuously improving their leadership competency in day-to-day business situations while consciously reflecting on their progress.

Participants will also receive their completed individual leadership profiles, based on their own evaluations and ratings from their peers, in the middle of February in the EMBA core module Leadership & Cooperation.
