Prof. Dr. Ann becomes first scientist to be voted on the steering committee of the VPP
On 28 April 2017, the member´s meeting of the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP), held in Bremen, has voted Prof. Dr. Christoph Ann LL.M. (Duke Univ.), chair holder of Corporate and Intellectual Property Law at TUM School of Management, on the leading conducting committee of the VPP.
The VPP is an association of patent experts mainly working in the business world, serving the purpose of fostering vocational education and training of those, who are occupied with the protection of industrial and intellectual property, and supporting legislation in all queries thereof, including relevant professional rights. The association consist of roundabout 3,000 members.
Prof. Dr. Ann is the first scientist on this board and the first personality who is neither a patent attorney nor the Chief IP Counsel of an influential German industrial company.
The second new member in the VPP-steering committee that is led by BASF Chief IP Counsel patent attorney Dr. Udo Meyer is patent assessor Uwe Wiesner, Head of Patent System / Corporate IP at Volkswagen AG, Wolfsburg.
