QS World University Ranking

In the “QS World University Ranking by Subject”, TUM placed 20th in natural sciences and 25th in engineering and technology. Moreover, the Master in Management & Technology at TUM School of Management was ranked 38th in the “QS Management Masters Rankings 2018”. Furthermore, Munich was ranked 9th in the top 10 of the best student cities worldwide.

Last year, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) was ranked 64th on the list, which makes it the best German university in the “QS World University Ranking” of 2017. The ranking is highly regarded as an indicator for the quality of universities’ research and teaching as well as their alumni’s employability.

Annually, the “QS World University Rankings” are published by the British education company and careers specialist Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The ranking criteria considers the universities’ reputation in academic and business circles, the number of citations per faculty, the student-teacher ratio, and the internationality of the faculties’ staff and students.
