Second installment of Building Information Modeling (BIM) Professional Program to start in October

The Certificate Program “Building Information Modeling (BIM) Professional”, offered by the Executive Education Center (EEC) of TUM School of Management, starts its second installment on 12 October 2017.

The EEC combines TUM School of Management´s further education activities and offers first class executive education and a variety of certificate programs ranging from private equity to employer branding.

The innovative program seeks to enable engineers, architects, executives and project directors with at least two years of work experience in a related field to successfully manage the planning, construction as well as the operation of buildings. Special emphasis is put on a digital 3D-model that manages to optimize the cooperation between different stakeholders during various stages of the building. However, during the course of the certificate program participants will also embark on various fields related to digital project implementation such as human resources and legal guidelines influencing a building project.

The BIM Professional course curriculum itself was developed in cooperation with HOCHTIEF ViCon and the Leonhard Obermeyer Center at TUM, an interdisciplinary center with the aim of bundling scientific expertise in the field of digitalization in construction in order to live up to the challenge of 21st century´s built environment. Other partners include the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the Bayerische Architektenkammer (Bavarian Architectural Association), as well as the TUM Department of Civil, Geo and Environmental Engineering and the TUM Department of Architecture.

The new installment will be divided into three modules, taking place from 12 to 14 October, 30 November to 2 December 2017, and 31 January to 3 February 2018. In order to successfully complete the certificate program, participants will have to take a written exam on the last day and present their case examples in front of the group. The program is taught in German only.

More information on the program and application details can be found on the official program website.
