Susanne Klatten spoke at Forum UnternehmerTUM
Susanne Klatten, a famous German heiress and business investor spoke at UnternehmerTUM‘s yearly technology congress on April 17, 2018. Klatten contributes with millions of euros each year towards Munich’s start-up ecosystem through her positions at UnternehmerTUM and as member of the Technical University of Munich (TUM)’s university council.
At this year’s technology congress (Forum UnternehmerTUM), which featured over 650 guests, Klatten talked in front of hundreds of young entrepreneurs about the achievements of her initiative in the past 16 years. She was quoted as saying that “This (Munich) is the best place for start-ups in Germany” and that “The network we have created here is unique”.
UnternehmerTUM kicks off over 50 start-ups a year, that is roughly one every week and the company and its start-up initiative have contributed greatly towards Munich’s elevated status as an internationally recognized startup ecosystem. This initiative was conceived out of desire of using TUM’s great potential for market ideas and basing them around a framework inspired by the Sillicon Valley.
Now, UnternehmerTUM is made up of 140 business specialists who employ their knowledge on guiding students and aiding existing companies in order to see them thrive – companies such as the long-distance bus company Flixbus and heating start-up Tado have all benefited from the company’s help.
