The 25th Management Colloquium in Munich on March 13 and 14, 2018

The 25th Management Colloquium in Munich at the Audimax of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) started yesterday on March 13 and will be taking place until March 14, 2018. The event is extremely successful and receives heavy attendance throughout its two-day duration. The colloquium features panels and discussions about management in the digital age such as “Digitization as opportunity” featuring Siemens’s chief technology officer Dr. Roland Busch and “Digital solutions in the company” hosted by TUM School of Management’s dean Prof. Dr. Gunther Friedl. The event is organized and hosted by the TCW Transfer-Centrum GmbH & Co. KG (TCW) and the TUM, in particular by professors from TUM School of Management. The welcome speech was held by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.mult. Wolfgang A. Hermann, president of the Technical University Munich.

Professors who are involved in hosting the event are  Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Horst Wildemann, head of the research institute for corporate management, logistics and production and managing director of TCW, TUM School of Management’s dean Prof. Dr. Gunther Friedl and Prof. Dr. Isabell M. Welpe, holder of the Chair of Strategy and Organization at TUM School of Management. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Senior Vice President Talent Management and Diversity at TUM School of Management, Prof. Dr. Christoph Kaserer, holder of the Chair of Financial Management and Capital Markets, Prof. Dr. Robert K. Frhr. von Weizsäcker, holder of the Chair Economics – Public Finance and Industrial Organization, and Prof. Dr. Alwine Mohnen, holder of the Chair Corporate Management, were involved in the Management Colloquium by presenting topics at discussions.

The topic of this year’s Management Colloquium is “Management in the digital age – Is the computer the better manager?”. The event features discussions on artificial intelligence as an important aid in the decision-making process, more scope to develop strategic formulations, and agile and flexible methods for the product and service development process.
