The reaction of investors when companies announce the movement to a SaaS business model
Prof. Dr. Oliver Alexy, Professor of Strategic Entrepreneurship at TUM School of Management, published, together with his co-authors, a highly informative article about the reaction of Investors when companies announce that they are moving to a Saas (Software as a Service) Business Model.
The radical transformation of Adobe in 2012, from a product-based business to a service-based, astounded the industry and the business figures prove Adobe right. Since then more and more software companies are considering the same step. However, there is a lot to be considered in the project so that the changeover can meet the positive expectations. The authors present three concrete steps that companies should take into consideration when planning such a transition.
