TUM Introduces Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification

The Six Sigma approach has emerged as one of the major tools in the upper management repertoire. We are happy to announce our very own Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification as the result of a cooperation between the Executive Education Center and the TUM School of Management. Starting this semester, the certificate can be earned in three consecutive online courses at eight weeks each.

Offered via the edX Platform, the program kicked off on 1 June, 2017 and will continue through 3 March, 2018. The first course “Six Sigma: Define and Measure” provides a chance for participants to learn the fundamentals of Six Sigma for targeted optimization of processes and efficiency gains. Starting on 1 October, 2017, the second course “Six Sigma: Analyze, Improve, Control” provides advanced tools such as the DMAIC-method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). And finally, the third course “Lean Production” starting on 1 February, 2018, will guide participants towards practical implementations of Six Sigma in their organizations.

The course is presented by lecturers Prof. Holly Ott, Senior Lecturer in Operations Management, and Prof. Martin Grunow, Professor of Production and Supply Chain Management at TUM

Participants receive their TUM Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification upon successfully completing all three courses. The first round of certificates will be awarded on 3 May, 2018. All courses are offered free of charge while certification is subject to an $88 fee.
