Our leadership development approach combines theory, structured reflection, systematic feedback, and evidence-based leadership tools. At the very core is our TUM Leadership Profile – a powerful instrument for leaders aiming to become the best they can be.

The TUM Leadership Profile is a theory-based feedback instrument that provides leaders with a detailed report of their strengths and development opportunities. It compares and contrasts their own self-assessment of their leadership behaviors with evaluations by their followers. The TUM Leadership profile also includes a toolbox with concrete suggestions to advance leadership skills and encourages leaders to develop a personal action plan.

SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND

The TUM Leadership Profile is based on the Full Range of Leadership Model (Bass & Avolio, 1994; Bass, 1998), which is the most deeply researched framework to date. It covers the manifold facets of leadership, ranging from rather ineffective behaviors such as ‘micromanagement’ to more effective behaviors such as ‘showing appreciation’.

We utilize a situational judgement test developed by leadership expert and TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning founding director Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus to provide you with a precise leadership assessment based on an evaluation of alternative reactions to prototypical leadership challenges. Thereby, the TUM Leadership Profile gives you reliable, valid and situation-specific feedback as an effective starting point for your personal leadership development.
