TUM top-ranked in “Reuters Top 100: Europe’s Most Innovative Universities”

On 14 June, 2016 the New York Times published „Reuters Top 100: Europe’s Most Innovative Universities“ for the first time. In this ranking the Technical University of Munich could achieve the fifth place behind institutions like the KU Leuven University  in Belgium and the Imperial College in London. For a long time the Technical University of Munich is one of the most innovative and strongest research universities. Since 1927 a number of 13 professors and alumni of the TUM have won the Nobel Prize for their research. In cooperation with the department  of  Intellectual Property & Science of Thomas Reuters, the most innovative universities from more than 600 institutions have been identified.  Amongst others, scientific puplications and the number of patent applications have been key criteria. Overall, german universities could show a high level of innovative capability: 24 of them are ranked under the top 100, more than from any other country.
