TUM organizes HENSOLDT Leadership Forum with awards ceremonies and workshops at ERI Garching

On May 16, 2018 the Executive Education of the TUM School of Management organized a special event at the TUM Entrepreneurship Research Institute (ERI) in Garching: At this year’s HENSOLDT Leadership Forum more than 100 executives from company locations all over the world accepted the invitation of HENSOLDT CEO Thomas Müller.

A top-class programme awaited the guests: In her keynote address, Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Vice Dean of Executive Education and holder of the Chair of Research and Science Management, impressively described the changed demands on managers in times of digital change.

HENSOLDT used the morning on the modern TUM campus Garching for internal presentations and updates by the executive board, followed by a joint business lunch with the opportunity for networking.
Before the assembled international participants at the HENSOLDT Leadership Forum, the internal Capture Team Awards for innovative teams were presented by HENSOLDT CEO Thomas Müller and Chief Human Resources Officer Peter Fieser.

The afternoon in Garching was devoted to three workshops on leadership topics: In Workshop 1, Dr. Hans-Joachim Gergs and Stephanie Bastin discussed with the participants how to deal with constant changes and tips for daily business. In the second workshop, Ulf Steinberg and Maxim Egorov showed how leaders can embody strong values and serve as role models in the company.

In the third workshop, Dr. Katharina Willis and Alexandra Mittermaier explained how companies can learn from start-up companies in building a corporate culture. The subsequent presentation of the workshop results showed that all topics were discussed very excitingly and should be further anchored in the company. We thank HENSOLDT for a very successful day in our TUM Entrepreneurship Research Institute.

HENSOLDT is a world leader in the field of premium sensors and has an equally strong presence in industries such as radars, optronics and electronic protection systems. The company emerged in 2017 as a spin-off from the electronics branch of the Airbus Group and currently employs 4,000 people at locations in Germany and South Africa.

In April, participants successfully completed the first edition of the “iDARE” leadership development program with HENSOLDT, developed in close cooperation between TUM Executive Education and HENSOLDT.
