TUM School of Management Ranked First and Second Best Online Courses
Digital learning is on the rise. The crisis surrounding COVID-19 has boosted the demand and also the supply of virtual learning courses. Class Central, a search engine specializing in digital education, has published a new ranking: The best online courses of all time, selected from 125,000 reviews. Two online courses from TUM School of Management rank on top in the field of Business and Management, as shown in the summary of the ranking by INC, and in the top 10 courses in all areas.
The top ranked course is TUM´s “Lean Production”, which gives learners a solid foundation in Lean Management, a customer-centric methodology that improves processes by eliminating waste and focusing on value-added tasks.
Second place is held by TUM´s “Six Sigma: Define and Measure”. The course covers the background and meaning of Six Sigma and the first phases of the DMAIC process improvement flow, a data-driven improvement cycle used for improving, optimizing and stabilizing business processes and designs. Both courses are part of the TUM Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Professional Certificate Program offered via edX, and developed by Prof. Dr. Martin Grunow and Prof. Dr. Holly Ott from the department of Production and Supply Chain Management. The program, which has had over 300,000 participants and has awarded over 3000 TUM Yellow Belts, is in the top 3 programs at edX next to MIT and Wharton.
