Welcome to the TUM School of Management

April 1, 2021. Joining us today for their new appointments at TUM School of Management are Prof. Dr. Dr. Mark-Oliver Mackenrodt and Prof. Dr. Michael Stich. Their research and areas of expertise range from law of the digital economy, platform markets and data driven markets, and European and German antitrust law and policy to integrated and sustainability reporting, investor impatience and managerial myopia, and accounting enforcement. With such a rich depth and breadth of knowledge, we could not be more pleased to have them further enrich our already outstanding team of educators. We are delighted to welcome them, and we wish them a successful start at TUM!

Prof. Mark-Oliver Mackenrodt is joining the TUM School of Management, as Professor of Law of Digital Goods, Commerce and Competition. In his research, Prof. Mackenrodt focuses on topics such as law of the digital economy, platform markets and data driven markets, European and German antitrust law and policy, and competition law, entrepreneurial strategies and innovation activities. He is also an Affiliated Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. Professor Mackenrodt is qualified as a lawyer in the United States and in Germany. His legal and academic practice includes working at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, at Harvard Law School, at LMU Munich, at the Foreign Office, German Embassy London, and at UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development).

Joining us at the TUM Campus Heilbronn is Prof. Dr. Michael Stich as Professor of Accounting at the Global Center for Family Enterprise in Heilbronn. Michael Stich studied Business Administration (Honors Program of the Elite Network of Bavaria) at the University of Regensburg and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He earned his doctorate in management and economics at the Chair of Accounting and Auditing of the Ruhr-University Bochum. He then served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Professor of Empirical Accounting at the University of Cologne. He is now joining the the TUM Campus Heilbronn as Professor of Accounting and Academic Program Director for the Bachelor Program in Management and Technology. In his research, Prof. Stich is interested in integrated and sustainability reporting, investor impatience and managerial myopia, and accounting enforcement.
