Brazil and the Amazon have been in the headlines in recent years due to forest fires and bholzung. Climate researchers have been studying the changes in this region for years – a lifetime of learning to help address the consequences of climate change. The webinar “TUM São Paulo meets TUM Learning Festival” on June 9, 2021, from 4 to 5 p.m. will feature the international research project AmazonFACE. A Brazilian scientist will present the AmazonFACE project together with his cooperation partner at TUM and will also discuss climate research and climate change in general.

The participants learn more about climate research using the example of the Amazon. They will learn about the connection between human activity and climate change and about mathematical models that are used to calculate the resilience of the Amazon rainforest in a scientific project.
