Digital event series “Learning from Leaders” starts with Harald Krüger

As part of the TUM Learning Festival, organized by the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning in 2021, the digital, English-language event series “Learning from Leaders” will begin on October 11. The topic of lifelong learning will be linked in three dates with leadership approaches in the digital age. The guest in the first edition of the panel discussion will be Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Telekom and Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

In the digital panel discussion “Leadership & Values”, Harald Krüger will speak with Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, Founding Director of the Institute and Vice President Talent Management & Diversity at TUM, on October 11 starting at 4 p.m. about current findings on the topic of lifelong learning and Harald Krüger’s decades of experience as a leader. Their focus topic: How can values function as an inner compass for leaders in the digital age? Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus will also present the latest scientific findings from her chair on the topic of learning and leadership.

Petra Scharner-Wolff, Member of the Executive Board of the Otto Group, on “New Work” and Human Needs

In the second part of the series, “Leadership & Human Needs”, Petra Scharner-Wolff, Member of the Executive Board of the Otto Group and responsible for Finance, Controlling and Human Resources, will be our guest on October 28, starting at 1:30 pm. Among other things, she will report on how she anchors the topic of lifelong learning at the Otto Group and how leaders should address the basic needs of employees in times of home office and remote working: What new framework conditions are created by the Corona pandemic and “New Work” concepts?

Dr. Reinhard Ploss, CEO Infineon Technologies, on Leadership & Technology

In the final part of the series entitled “Leadership & Technology”, Prof. Dr. Claudia Peus, founding director of the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning, talks with Dr. Reinhard Ploss. Ploss, who was named “Manager of the Year” by Handelsblatt in 2020, has been CEO of Infineon Technologies for almost 10 years. In the panel discussion on November 9 at 4:30 p.m., he will answer the question: What relevance does technology have for managers and corporate development?
