Accessibility Statement

The TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning (TUM LLL) strives to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Bavarian Ordinance on Electronic Administration and Accessible Information Technology (BayEGovV). This accessibility statement applies to the central web presence of TUM LLL (www.lll.tum.de) in both German and English versions.

Status of Compliance with Accessibility Requirements

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of BITV 2.0. The non-compliant content and exceptions are listed below.

Non-Accessible Content

  • Alternative Texts: Some images, tables, and interactive elements lack meaningful alt attributes.
  • Heading Structure: Occasional errors in heading hierarchy.
  • Keyboard Navigation: Certain interactive elements are not fully operable via keyboard.
  • Contrast: Some text elements have insufficient color contrast.
  • Zoom and Scaling: Layout shifts occur when zooming beyond 200%.
  • Easy Language and Sign Language: Content in Easy Language or sign language is currently not available.
  • Language Attributes: English sections are not always correctly marked with lang attributes.
  • PDF Documents: Many linked PDFs are not fully accessible (missing tags, reading order).
  • Videos: Embedded videos do not consistently provide captions or audio descriptions.
  • Dynamic Content: Sliders and interactive components lack complete ARIA markup and may be difficult for screen readers.
  • Forms: Some forms lack descriptive labels or ARIA attributes; focus order is not always logical.

Reasons for Non-Accessible Content

The website includes complex dynamic content and forms as well as numerous files and PDF documents. Due to technical limitations of the content management system, limited staff resources, and the scope of content, full accessibility has not yet been achieved. Additionally, some embedded content (e.g., videos, documents) originates from external providers and is not available in an accessible format. We are continuously working on improvements.
