Certificate programs

The course contributed an important boost to personal growth, and a path to new relationships. It exposed me to a rich combination of the science and practice of brewing. Engaging on-line presentations were followed by two, intensive, on-site sessions of three days each.

This program has given me access to a network with extensive expertise and experience. It is the ideal space to ask critical questions, discuss current developments and think outside the box. Although only a few months have passed since the end of the program, this network has already supported me in several projects.

It was a good mix of theory and application. I found the advice from the practitioners very helpful. Especially in the feedback sessions when we developed our projects. It was sometimes a bit overwhelming to understand all the theoretical parts of the lecture. But there are great additional resources to follow up on each topic to get a better understanding.

My motivation is to make an impact on how companies can position themselves disruptively and assert themselves in the future. My career has benefited extremely from this Executive MBA as I have gained different perspectives on strategic and operational issues and had the opportunity to take part in Dell’s female leadership program.

I am truly grateful to the ‘Technical University of Munich’ for offering such a valuable certification program in ‘Strategic Supply Chain Management in Turbulent Times’. The course provided deep insights into concepts and practical applications as well as the analytics that will be instrumental to apply in real life scenarios. A special thanks to Professor (Dr.) Holly Ott for her exceptional teaching, guidance, and ability to simplify complex ideas into real-world solutions. The journey through this course has been both enriching and inspiring.

Our excursions to the various companies on the practical weekends were also very exciting, e.g. the malt house or the hop community, and the many great discussions with the other course participants at eye level were very helpful and a good added value in this course.

Having over twenty years of experience in both technical and management roles, I always found that I was missing certain tools in my ‘toolbox’ – especially when it came to working with senior executives. After attending the Executive MBA in Business & IT at the TUM, I am confident about engaging in deeper discussions because I now use these newly gained tools.

It was very interesting to learn about the various factors of factual and human performance requirements and their effects. Especially in the operating room, where work is often done under time pressure and with changing team members, errors can be consciously avoided through good patient safety management.

One of my decision criteria to join the Executive MBA program at the TUM was based on the modular setup offered. The split into modules which mostly took place Thursday to Tuesday helped me a lot to manage my full-time job, focus on the Executive MBA and still spend time with my family as I have two kids.

The program equipped me with the knowledge and skills for responsible leadership in a time of technological disruption – making thoughtful, informed decisions not just to navigate disruption, but to embrace new technologies, foster innovation and progress, all in an environment based on trust.

Within this program, you get the chance to work with companies and work on your projects, so that you can actually apply the information you learned in the lectures, instead of just studying for exams and putting that information down on paper.

What an outstanding course. The instructors make the videos engaging and convey the topics in a much more interesting manner than any other computer science lecturer I’ve ever seen. The course is structured very cleverly as well, with multiple video paths that you can take depending on how much support you need.

Excellent structuring, very original tasks!

What I particularly liked about this course is that it was not industry-specific, which allowed me to learn how other industries use Blockchain. Also, the course provides excellent foundational knowledge in each module. The group exercise and case study were also excellent ways to apply our new knowledge and solidify our understanding of the material. Not to mention, I made new acquaintances and friends thanks to the course!

During my studies, I was able to understand what type of leader I am and how to make a real impact on my team and my stakeholders. Most importantly, I learned how to support my team members, help them grow and become the best version of themselves.

Whether in the classroom or virtually, our goal is the same – to enable our students to drive forward digitization and the use of new technologies, to build a network in which they can thrive, and to impart proven leadership qualities that will give them the tools they need to position their company sustainably in the marketplace.

The Brewer Cursus was a great success! TUM has highly motivated lecturers who are very passionate about the subjects. The topics were all very interesting. The practical brewing process itself was very hands-on. We brewed in small groups. I was able to take away many tips and tricks for my small brewing operation I am planning to expand.

Today, we face with the challenges of climate change, growing global population as well as resource scarcity. The building industry plays a decisive role in reducing CO₂ emissions. The aim of our work is therefore to highlight concepts for implementing a positive ecological footprint in the building sector.

It is essential for companies to assess whether the “quantum advantage” provides them with a product advantage and whether the possible “quantum supremacy” may mean that their product’s technical and market conditions must be completely reassessed.
