* For all international applicants who have received their bachelor’s degree outside of Germany it is highly recommended to submit your application before i.e. January 31, or July 31, to process your application in the timely matter. Please note that for the admission process, only the bachelor’s degree is relevant. It has no influence if you have already obtained a master’s degree within the EU.

Admission process

All applications must be submitted on time and in full in order to be considered equally. As there are several rounds of applications, we generally consider all applications from one round first before moving on to the applications for the next round. The sooner you submit all your application documents correctly, the sooner we can give you an admission decision. We look forward to receiving your application!
Both national and international applicants must register on TUMonline to start their application process. Read more on the online application at TUM or watch TUMonline video tutorial.

In addition, all applicants who obtained their Master’s entrance qualification outside Germany, must apply for a verification document via uni-assist. You can have your documents reviewed by uni-assist e.V. at any time of the year. An on time application to uni-assist for prospective students is strongly recommend. At peak periods, especially in the summer months, the uni-assist process can take up to six weeks to complete. After uni-assist has completed its evaluation, you will receive a notification which you should submit in TUMonline along with your application documents.

Special conditions for certain countries: Applicants with a Master’s degree from China, India, or Vietnam must consider additional requirements set by TUM. More information on this can be found below. Please note that these additional processes can sometimes take up to 6 months or longer. Therefore, we recommend that you get informed with the requirements applicable to you in a timely manner and start with the necessary steps. This process is conducted independently of your application to TUM and cannot be influenced by it. Submission of these documents is mandatory to process your application.
Please upload the following documents as PDF files:
Please find detailed information about the requirements of the documents in TUM Glossary of Documents and the TUM FAQs.
Once your application is fully completed and approved in TUMonline, you will receive feedback as soon as possible, generally within six weeks after your application is complete. If you fulfill the central TUM requirements and pass the first stage of the application process, we will invite you for a personal admission interview in virtual format.

The admission interview will be conducted in English by our selection committee, which consists of professors, our program management team and admission manager. During the interview, alongside English skills, the applicant’s motivation, dedication, abilities and experiences will be assessed.
After the successful completion of both stages of our admission process and the formal acceptance of the study place, further documents will be required to complete your enrollment at TUM.
Please upload the following documents as PDF files in TUMonline:
Once you have accepted your study place, please pay the semester fee in full directly to TUM.

Tuition fees can be settled in up to four installments. Before the first module begins, you will receive a welcome email where you can provide your invoice information. The invoice will be issued based on the details you submit, so ensure the email address for delivery is correct.

Official enrollment at TUM is completed only after the fees have been paid and all required documents have been submitted. Once enrolled, you will be able to print your student documents (e.g., enrollment certificate and enrollment record) and will receive your
Student Card.
