The course Quantum Technologies Deep Dive provides participants with an in-depth introduction to quantum technologies through specialized modules, allowing them to tailor their learning experience to their specific needs. The in-depth introduction to quantum technologies is complemented by a hands-on exploration of practical use cases, allowing participants to gain valuable experience and develop skills to navigate the quantum technologies landscape.

The course is divided into four modules:
The Basics Module provides a comprehensive explanation of the fundamental principles of quantum science. The Quantum Computing Module explores the potential, the implementation, the current reality and future prospects of quantum computing. The Quantum Communication Module delves into the state-of-the-art and future prospects of quantum communication and cryptography. The Quantum Sensing Module investigates the current state and future potential of quantum sensing and imaging.

After the course, participants:

  • have developed a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and concepts of quantum technologies;
  • are familiar with the potential, the state-of-the-art advancements, and the emerging trends in quantum technologies;
  • are able to evaluate the feasibility and limitations of quantum technologies;
  • have developed communication skills to understand technical literature in the field;
  • have worked with quantum hardware and software tools for problem-solving and experimentation;
  • have transferred the concept of quantum technologies to an exemplary real-world application.

Why this program?

The program offers a customizable learning approach:
Participants can choose the course modules that best suit their interests and learning goals and tailor the course to their specific needs.

The program is designed to prepare participants for the quantum era:
The course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the potential, current status, and roadmap of quantum technologies. Through hands-on exploration of exemplary use cases, participants will implement this understanding in real-world scenarios, bridging the gap between theory and practical applications.

Quantum science is made tangible in practical experiments and a lab tour:
Practical experiments allow participants to discover quantum science via hands-on exploration, through which the participants will gain a deeper understanding of the abstract concepts underlying quantum systems. In a lab tour, participants can furthermore see real quantum hardware and witness the physical manifestations of quantum systems.

Visualizations make quantum science more accessible:
The course incorporates visualizations created by didactics experts, which are specifically designed to simplify the intricate concepts of quantum science and make them more accessible.

Optional refresher courses on linear algebra or Python:
Optional self-paced refresher courses on linear algebra and Python are offered prior to the program.

Participants can broaden their network:
Our course provides opportunities to connect with the local quantum technologies landscape, through additional networking events and connections to researchers, industry professionals, and fellow learners.
