When it comes to technology (and related degrees and professions), prejudices prevent equal access for women, stereotypes have women be perceived as rather incompetent in handling them and the majority of men in the development of new technological products means that these are also primarily developed from their perspective – why though? In my talk I will discuss current scientific and economic findings on the relationship between gender and tech and how we can break with the corresponding biases.

Impulse on Healthy Leadership – how to recognize and address psychological stress in yourself and others

Mental health problems have become a pressing issue. Next to excessive workload, leaders often feel unsure about how to respond to signs of poor psychological distress in their teams. To empower leaders and to promote a proactive approach to mental health, we will discuss different pathways through which leaders can effectively influence employee mental health. Finally, we outline boundaries of leaders’ responsibility and identify relevant stakeholders that provide further assistance.
