TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning welcomes Norwegian School of Economics in Munich

The TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning has recently started a new Master-level study program with the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). The leading Norwegian business school organizes a yearly international “Innovation School” for their Master students – in 2021, the Institute designed and delivered the study week on-site for the first time and welcomed the Norwegian students in Munich.

The program called “Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship” was designed in cooperation with the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning and Steffen Juranek, Associate Professor, NHH. During the five days in Munich, TUM professors and experts Dr. Rebecca Preller, Prof. Dr. Joachim Henkel, Prof. Hana Milanov, Prof. Nicola Breugst as well as Dr. Martin Böhm and Prof. Philipp Maume led sessions about topics like entrepreneurship, open innovation, innovation culture and the internationalization options of innovation. They answered questions such as: How can I generate successful business ideas? Why is the team the most important asset for innovation? What is the lean start-up approach? And, how can I capture the value created by innovation? Guest speakers brought in their practical experience on entrepreneurship in start-ups as well as how innovation can emerge in international companies.

“The week in Munich was a great opportunity to gain new insights and perspectives on entrepreneurship and innovation management. Despite the restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, we were able to enjoy the teaching program and the city – our students benefitted greatly”, says Steffen Juranek.

The team of TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning and NHH

International expertise and collaborations with institutions and universities worldwide have always been a part of the TUM Institute for Lifelong Learning: Before the pandemic, the team already designed and delivered international study weeks for universities from the US, Canada, China, Taiwan, Italy and France, among others. In 2021, several new cooperation projects with Nordic universities are starting, such as NHH. Each program is tailor-made, based on the needs of the international group and consists of modules mostly covering management and leadership topics.

The current Corona regulations apply to all our programs. We are monitoring the situation in Germany at any time to ensure the safety of our participants in on-site courses and apply a strict hygiene concept at all locations.
