International E-Learning Award for Six Sigma Program of the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning for Infineon

A training program of the Institute for LifeLong Learning of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) for Infineon Technologies has now received an international award: “Thinking Six Sigma & Lean: Infineon Blended Green Belt Certification” has attracted the attention of the IELA (The International E-Learning Association) and received an Honorable Mention.

This recognition is for a combined training program developed for Infineon production sites worldwide: With the special program, Infineon employees learn Six Sigma and Lean theory to improve production processes and effectively exploit savings opportunities. They can work at their own pace and independently online.

Six Sigma training program honored with “Honorable Mention”

“In this way, the employees learn more about the strategic and economic benefits of Six Sigma and are familiarized with a wide range of valuable tools and methods for systematic process improvement so that they can start their own project on site,” explains Konstantina Koumpouli, Digital Learning Program Manager at the TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning. She is responsible for the program together with Stephan Tente, Lead Principal Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement at Infineon Technologie, and Holly Ott, Professor of Production and Supply Chain Management at the Technical University of Rosenheim. It launched in October 2020 and is now being rolled out in five countries.

The IELA approvingly selected the training program for a mention in the “Blended Learning – Business Awards” section. The Association is dedicated to advancing the knowledge and practice of e-learning in the classroom and workplace – in collaboration with e-learning experts, researchers and students from around the world. The International E-Learning Awards are presented each year for the best work in e-learning, mobile learning, and blended learning. Among other things, the IELA Awards Committee evaluates the pedagogical quality and effectiveness, user-friendliness, and overall relevance of the projects submitted.
